WHO CAN ENTER?

1. The business is owned by a member of the Cape Town Jewish Community (you may have partners that are not Jewish);
2. The business was in operation pre-2021; and
3. The business employs between 1 – 25 employees or has an annual turnover of less than R10m.

CAN NGO/NPO'S ENTER?

The Shining Light Awards for 2021 is focused on business sustainability in terms of PROFIT, PEOPLE and PURPOSE. Profit refers to income from sales of product or services.
Income cannot be in the form of donations. You need to be sustainable without donations income.
Should your organization quality, you may enter.

CAN SOCIAL ENTERPRISES ENTER?

If meet the criteria relating to PROFIT, PEOPLE and PURPOSE. Profit refers to income from sales of product or services.
Should your organization qualify, you may enter.

HOW DO WE ENTER?

We have a Google Form you will need to complete and attached 90 second video (elevator pitch) with your:

Name and Surname
Business Name and your role
What business does?
How many people do you employ?
How is your business a shining example which focusses on Profit, People and Purpose? Elaborate on the 3 principles of Sustainability as explained above.

DO I HAVE TO SHARE FINANCIAL INFORMATION?

Financial due diligence will be conducted on all shortlisted applicants at Stage 2.

WHAT CAN WE WIN?

Winner: R36 000 cash, high level mentorship through ORT Jet valued at R10 000; funded intern and full organisational job analysis through Staffwise valued at R15 000, Over the Rainbow Golden Circle valued at R5 000.

Runner up: R18 000 cash

Viewer’s choice: R9 000 cash

Video Entries must be submitted by 10 September 2021 via the Google application form
Semi-finalists will be notified on 1 October 2021
2nd stage application entries due in on 11 October 2021
Top-10 will be notified on 18 October 2021
Pitch-to-Win training with Justin Cohen on 21 October 2021
Top-10 face-to-face pitch to judges 4 November
Final event 18 November 2021
